MS Office 97 Pro & Word 2000

I have Office97 Pro. A couple of months ago I purchased a new PC that came with Word2000. Can I load Office97 and then load Word2000 onto the new PC?

If that’s possible, what about all of those Office97 updates and patches… do they have to be loaded prior to the Word2000 install?
