MS Remote Desktop blues

Server is W2K Server, my remote machine is W2K. I was shown how to use MS Remote Desktop to perform certain server funtions. I was cleaning out great quantities of user folders/files (end-of-school cleanup)when my remote screen froze. I ended task on Remote Desktop, and since then when I log in (I can still log on) all I get is blue screen; no desktop, no task bar, just the tab at the top to exit. I have restarted my computer, removed program and reloaded a fresh version, I have ended session from the server. Nothing seems to work. HELP!
