Hello,
I had to reinstall XP Pro and have updated it and all drivers. I want to begin reinstalling my applications but there are two issues that I don’t know how to address.
1. During the install of XP it asked me to create a pswd for the Administrator account, which I did. Then it asked me to name users and I made 1 user. When XP loads, the one user does not appear on the welcome screen and the system goes right into my desktop without stopping. How can I get Windows to stop at the welcome screen with only 1 user? (it stops with 2 users but I only want one)
2. Once Windows is loaded and I’m at the desktop, I can’t use the system (nothing is click-able)unless I press alt, ctrl, delete first. When reinstalling XP, I actually had to do it 4 times in a row, because each installation except for the last had issues that I couldn’t solve (I’m not a techie). This last issue was manageable enough to get me through updating the OS and drivers, but now I’d like to repair it and move on, but I don’t know where to begin.
I’d appreciate any help/insight on how to correct these 2 issues.
