Hello guys, i have a problem with my pc that started about a week ago, whenever i tried to access my dvds/cds or burn new copies my entire system slows down to a crawl. Initially, my dvd drive is connected as master device on the primary IDE channel, the second IDE channel is unconnected, and my hard drive is SATA. It worked fine for almost 6 months until last week. But when I connect the DVD Drive to the Secondary IDE Channel as Master Device, it works fine. I tried switching it back and forth and confirmed that the Primary IDE Channel has the problem. I have an old IDE HDD that I connected to that Primary Channel as Master device, and it worked just fine, i can open my old files there as well as play media without it affecting my system. It seems to be having a problem with just my DVD Drive. So my question is, does my mainboard have a problem? Or is it my DVD Drive? Or is it software problem? Could there be a possibility that the problem with my Primary IDE Channel would also happen to my Secondary IDE Channel? Please help me…
