My dvd Writer won’t play videocd

Hi friends ,

I need your help, I have bought Compaq Laptop few weeks back. A few days before i inserted a video cd and view the film but now whenever i insert the video cd my system says it is blank disc whereas it plays on my pc.

My Dvd writer in laptop plays Audio cd and not video cd. what could be the problem. please help me.

I have windows vista.
