my hp cd writer dvd combe 9900 series.

This had bee working fine. Just lately It’s blinking all the time. I opened it and found it very dusty and cleaned it but not to avail. I still can see it on my “CMOS” setup and on my computer but it won’t recognize any cds. What could it wrong?
