This problem has survived several Netware 5.1 SPs and other minor upgrades. We run Novell, Kyocera and Xerox gateways, mainly Kyocera. After a week or two, a couple of the printers will slow down. Then more will. Getting more and more unusable.Eventually one of two things will happen:
1) a print job will start spewing out junk. We’ll try and stop and start the printer agent to clear it and this will trigger a server crash.
2) The server will crash on its own.
Pre-emptive server restarts once a week will tend to keep the problem at bay, but then this is getting like Windows ! Netware is supposed to run and run. I suspect some form of memory leak – how would I check + fix this?
I fear the suggestion “try applying the latest patches” is made out of desperation as no-one seems to have heard of this problem before… have they?
