Need Help!

I have an issue with my Win2000pro system when it shuts down. It may not be an issue but it is perpelexing. One day when I booted up my pc a screen came up that read my hard drive needed to be checked for errors.

I ran the check and when it wasdone it declared it had fixed/repaired some files. Now when I shutdown it goe through the correct process until the end. I can hear the power supply gear down but the window that tells me its okay to shut off the power never appears. I just get ablack screen. I shut down. When I bring the system back up all indications are it shut down properly the first time. No improper shutdown messages.

Any suggestions?? I have both hotfixes installed on my machine.
