Nero 8 – SmartStart Problem

I installed Nero 8 on a friend’s computer. She’s not very computer savvy and wanted a simple way to burn and copy her CDs.

The problem arose when I showed her how to rip one of her CDs. I was hoping that Nero would connect to freedb and show the track titles. Nero simply returned a message “that it couldn’t connect with freedb”.

When I went into the advanced mode, Nero had no problem connecting to freedb and downloading the track titles.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to get the freedb feature working in SmartStart’s ripping feature?
