Net. Neighborhood vs. ‘Find | Computers’

by d'anno . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

There are networked PC’s on our LAN that display on various other LAN PC’s, but not on others in Network Neighborhood. All clients have same workgroup name, TCP/IP and IPX/SPX protocols bound. My PC, for example, never displays a shared box named ‘BIOV1′ in Net. N’hood while most others’ PC’s DO display it. However, I have successfully mapped drive H:\ to ‘BIOV1’ and can find ‘BIOV1’ and shared resources on it using ‘Start | Find | Computers’. I’m pretty sure the box has a DHCP assigned IP,so probably can’t modify the HOSTS file(??). How can I ensure that my PC (and others) will display these shared PC’s in Network Neighborhood??
