Net send spam

Anyone else getting spam such as “University Diplomas” via the DOS net send command? We’re getting them on our network at the university. I’m wondering what the best way is to stop it. We’re not using the messenger service, so I’m thinking about just turning it off. But do I have to turn it off on the users’ computers too? Has anyone else dealt with this?
