network

I own a pc configuring p4 2.8Ghz,865chipset mother board with realtech on board lan card.Reacently I installed Mandrake 9.2 . After completing Installation my lan card got configured.But I dont find out the ping command even I dont get any command promt like option to execute the ping command.

Is there any network configuration option at my linux . please help me .
