Network a laptop to desktop with aircard

I have a laptop – wdws XP with Sprint broadband PCMCIA card. Can I network this laptop with my XP desktop? Both machines also have ethernet cards. Maybe a crossover cable between them or a router or hub with regular ethernet cable between them?
