Network authenticaton via vpn connection

by rwrit . Updated 22 years, 10 months ago

I’ve got three remote users that are unable to gain access to files and client server apps through a vpn connection. Parameters:
all clients: WIN XP
Internal office LAN: WIN 2000 AD
Router: Cisco 2611 OS 12.0
Firewall: Netscreen 25 software ver. 4.0.0r3.0
VPN software: Netscreen Remote ver 8.0

Remote users log into domain profile on laptop, start Netscreen Remote Client and successfully establish vpn connection to network, but when attempting to map a network share, they receive an error message stating that a domain controller cannot be contacted to authenticate their username and password. Alternatively, when they log into the laptop local machine profile and attempt to map the same network share, they are at least receive a username/password prompt. Even though the share is open to the AD “Everyone” group, the users are not able to establish a connection.
