hi,
i’m hoping for some advice as what i’m trying to achieve is a bit beyond my limited network skills so here goes
i have a fairly large building with an adsl connection using a bt router, and there is an internal lan, (including wifi which is not currently required) that services the office, etc. ie. its private BUT i also want to have public wifi access distributed thoghout the building (this will require at least 3 access points to ensure coverage) and obviously, i want to ensure that guests have no access to the internal lan
at the moment the bt router (BT2700HGV – 2wire i think) provides dhcp to everything and the firewall doesn’t allow me to restrict access in any meaningful way that i can see. i have a couple of dlink wifi access points that don’t have any built-in firewalls but they do support vlans apparently which may or may not help?
any advice much apprecciated….
many thanks
andy
