Working for the federal government we are occasional required to provide information under the “Access to Information” act. Therefore, we are looking at creating a procedure to help us search for information that might be requested.
I was just wondering if anyone out there could recommend a search program that would be able to search the network as well as the local computer? It would need to be able to search by file name and date. As well as be able to search for keywords inside the following types of documents: WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, Lotus Approach, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc…. It would also need to be able to search inside Zip files, and not just file names inside Zip files. It would have to also search the contents of the files inside the Zip files.
