Netwrk Nbrhd Properties cause Freez/Win2

by garyt . Updated 24 years, 4 months ago

I am running a Win2k server SP1 (I think) and have some weirdness going on. If I right click on Network Neighborhood or click on Start/Settings/Network and Dialup Connections/ the screen locks up. I can click somewhere on the desktop, but the Start option is frozen. I can’t get my network properties to view. I can’t install/uninstall any programs. I can’t start/stop any services (when I try it goes all the way to the end of the status bar and then reports a 1503 error, saying it took too long). I tried to install service pack 2, but it won’t install. This seemed to center around trying to install a product call CyberPatrol (of which I couldn’t install). It may have been happening before, but not for sure. My Exchange 2K services are also going down. I have noticed that when I reboot it takes forever. It seems to hang at Preparing Network Connections. I have a Dell Poweredge 2400 running a Raid5 system with two NIC cards attached to a 24 port 10/100 switch. Has anyone seenthis before. Oh yeah, I tried to install Nortons, but can’t!!!
