New contract position, started as install, migrate and train users in the new O/S (XP). Then I would be the system administrator. I have allot of different O/S experience, linux, UNIX, windows from 3.11 to XP and other
Proprietary O/S. The Company is a small bank and has four other venders who do every thing from network
Setup and configuration to setting up their federal backup procedures. The Unix box, which is over five years old, will be replaced with a new Unix box. Blade servers will replace three of the old servers
And controlled by the vendors. The Windows 2000 servers were setup by another vendor and the active directory is a joke, everyone can see and do any thing. They expect me to correct and fix any problems but
I can not use any vendors systems (I will not get Admin. Rights). This was to be a contract to hire position.
The person controlling the net work now is a data manager who will not even give me Admin. Rights, until the contract is over. Even though I am suppose to be looking at and suggesting changes to the network.
Is it worth staying with this position?
