Is there anyone that could point me in the right direction, I am having trouble deciding which certifications/career path to go for? I know that this topic has been discussed more times than I can even imagine but I am at a loss on who to talk to. I have researched, read and heard many different opinions on this subject matter. I have been a pc tech for the past eight years; I had taken the A+ and MCSE courses back in 2001 and only until recently have I gotten my A+. I am currently studying for the Network+ and Security+ certs, which I hope to have within the next month or so. I have become very interested in both windows administration and database developing which has led me to the MCSA, MCDBA or the new MCITP certs. I had met with an instructor to talk about which path would be better and he had suggested that I go for the MCSA, MCITP: Windows Administrator and MCITP: Database Developer certs and to forget about the MCDBA certification. This does make sense to me but is it really necessary to go for the MCSA and MCITP: Windows Administrator certs or is he just trying to make money off of me? Is it even necessary to go for the new MCITP certs since they are so new and stay with the old MCDBA and MCSA certs or vice-versa? I am also looking for reliable schools in the Northern New Jersey area if anyone knows of any? So many questions…any comments would be greatly appreciated!!
