New Pent 4 1.4Mgs-transfer old hardrive

Just purchased new Pent 4 1.4MGS. What’s your opinion re how best to tranfer old hardrive data to new hardrive. Dont want to use tape backup—have problems. Same with the CRDW operation backup. Considering: 1. Lan with the old computersas master and new as slave. Using Windows 98 SE on both. Old computer is Cyrix II 233 with 4 Gig hardive. After transfer complete how make the slave the maste?r.
