No Red Hat 8.0 Sound

Having installed Redhat 8.0 for the first time everything works fine except the sound, which is non existent. The embedded (C-Media)PCI audio chipset is detected correctly. If I run the KDE sound utility the card is also detected correctly. If I runsndconfig, the device is detected but on selecting test, only a single click is generated (presumably from the line amp)Motherboard is MSI KT4 (MS6590) at latest BIOS revision. Sound works OK under Windows. Any ideas?
