No Sound in RedHat Linux 8.0

I have an MSI MS-6712 mainboard with embedded RealTek ALC650 ‘AC97 sound card. Linux installed a VIA ‘AC97 driver for this which did not work.

I downloaded the correct driver from RealTek unzipped it which created a directory with directions how to install

I followed the commands

./configure

then

make install

then

./snddevices

This worked ok then added the text to the modules.conf that the driver doc stated, but still no sound

Any help would make me real happy
