Non traditional schools

I believe that having a college degree and a certification is my road map to success. There are a lot of schools out there that offer degree programs through the Internet or provide night attendance. My concern is that my degree from University of Phoenix wont be worth as much as one from a regular University. I wonder what the attitudes of hiring managers are towards the particular school a person goes to in the IT industry? All I need is the opportunity to prove myself, but I am concerned that because I did not attend a more traditional school I will have limited choice and opportunity, at least when first starting out. Anyone have a take?
