The free week of Tech Republic Guild was not really free. I was disappointed as a professional that the books that you offered for reading had the XXXXXX’s provision so we couldn’t freely read it. I love the concept of Tech Republic and the on-line service. Tech Republic is really quite helpful and insightful. It is a refreshing new way to present technical information.
However, when you offer a free view for a week, make it truly free. When HBO or Cinemax advertises Free HBO for a week, to get new subscribers, you truly get to see the movies. They don’t put XXX’s up on the screen so you only view parts of it. The idea is if you like it you will come back. I was dissappointed and will not join because of this. I was left witha feeling you were hiding something or a perception of cheapness. I know you don’t want to give away the store, but I don’t believe the samplings that you offer constitute the level you had to go to. It would of been better to have one book with all the information then a bunch with the limitation. In this way you could truly see the quality of the book in its true format and get an understanding of how the other book would be presented. Just an observation. I know our tech team felt the same way.
