notebook screen busted/?connect to netbook & view files navigate?

The screen is shattered on my laptop (notebook) nothing wring with general OS. Need to connect to something and view/run back up or data transfer. Can I connect to a netbook and use it as the monitor? If so, what cables support connection….Would like full list of all types… thanks
