Novell Netware & Windows 2000 on Laptops

We run Novell NDS 4.x, we are upgrading our laptops to W2k using the Novell Netware client but we have run into a bit of a problem. The Novell Netware client replaces the standard MS Logon screen.

When the user logs on while attached to the LAN everything works fine. BUT when the user attempts to log on while away from the LAN user can’t logon unless they tick the workstation only option in the Novell client logon.

I understand, when the Novell client logs off it deletes the users localinformation.

Has anyone seen a better way of managing this problem?
