I have NT (4.00.1381) installed on two servers on the same LAN. When using Explorer to access my Floppy drive (or my CD drive) I get the message “A:\ Is not accessible. The device is not ready.” (different drive name for CD, obviously). Also, pressing the “eject” button on the CD drive does absolutely nothing. This problem has arisen on both machines at the same time, but not on 2000 (client) machines on the same network.
The fact that this has occured on two seperate machines at the same time leads me to believe that the problem may have been caused by a virus, however a full scan with Nortons did not find anything.
I have followed the Microsoft Knowledge Base instructions (169620) (ie. changing the 0000 key under Legacy_cdfs), but still have the same problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated (please email to gcaesar@ozemail.com.au)
Regards,
Graeme
