NT4 PDC and W2K BDC

I have pretty dumb question. I need to have a NT4 and use a Windows 2000 server as the BDC. Is this possible. I wont be using active directory and i know that they basicaly authenticate differently.

If anyone can answer my question, i would greatly appreciate it.
