Office 2007

There are some machines with that flavor of Office, specifically the Small Business Edition. When looking at the Add/Remove applet and showing all updates, the version info is seen. That is all good, but it can not be seen in Office itself. The GUI is set to be in Ribbon. The OS is XP Pro. When clicking on the Orb in Office, the things that should appear do not appear. Any suggestions of how to get the information directly?
