Older ipod disassembly

My daughter dropped her older Ipod in a sink full of water and it hasn’t worked since. I would like to disassemble it with out further damage, but it does not appear obvious to me how to disassemble it. Does this device require a special tool to open it up? If so, where might it be acquired? Are ther any URLs that might help?
