Operating System XYZ is immune to viruses and malware

I have come across this sentiment too many times to count ..but coming from an End-user I just smile condescdingly and say ‘yeah,ok’ but for some reason I got pissef off when i hear this ignorant declaration from a techi !

I’m sure we have all heard such grand declarations as ‘Macs dont need spyware or malwaure removers’ or ‘they dont get infected by viruses’ ditto for linux .. aside from the branding they are all essentially vulnerable and yes, some more than others but, to claim immunity is ridiculous.

two things should not be confused there have been more exploits for OS ABC then for XYZ which is not the issue and can be explained away by social and econimc incentives and factors.
