Optimize system performance

Hello All,
I am looking to speed up a users laptop here in the office running win XP sp2 2gb of ram,120gb HD, 256K video card. the user is complaing it takes over 3 minutes to open a file and his system slows down, and is sluggish. I have cleaned up the system, did the chkdskk, bad sector search, disk defrag, clenaed it up good, ran spybot and adaware. I am looking for a highend optimizing software i can implement within my company for certain users desktops and laptops, any suggestions.
