I got an offer from what was then Andersen Consulting at the end of 2000/beginning of 2001. Back then I was working for a small consulting firm on a project with a startup affiliate (AC Technology Venture) in the Silicon Valley during the boom times. I initially received an offer in Resources as Houston, TX. is my home then applied to Comm. and Hi Tech in San Francisco and received an offer there also. I turned down both AC offers to work with another small consulting firm specializing energy trading business and you know how that market turned out (Enron?). After being laid off earlier this year I could not get an offer with Accenture as both of the above mentioned markets are doing terribly now. I am now working for a stable, low pay public authority that uses Oracle Financials. I am gaining good functional and technical experience in O.F., Oracle Reports and would like feedback on how the market as a whole looks like for Oracle Financials folks. I would like to get back into consulting in the near future.
