OS X Server slowdown

by keyboard cowboy . Updated 23 years, 7 months ago

We recently installed Mac OS X Server. Ever since the install, the macintosh users connected to it expereince a massive slowdown on their machines. It takes about 45 seconds before something you click on will highlight. We have tried numerous things, and have no luck. Last week we switched it back to OS 9, and the slowdown problem disappeared. The other night, we combined two of our servers into one, and it is running OS X again. And now everything will periodically slow down. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of pattern….it will slow down whenever and for however long it wants. There are about 30 Mac’s in the building, most of them running OS 9.1 or higher. There are three that run 8.x….can anyone PLEASE help? Getting to thepoint where we are going to have to take it down again. Thanks a lot.
