Outlook 2000 – Meeting Requests Cause Visual C ++ Runtime Library Error

by iaingray741 . Updated 18 years, 3 months ago

I’ve started seeing a few people with Outlook 2000 having an error when they send a response to a meeting request they get a “Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library” dialouge box containing the following:

“Runtime error! Program: C\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application’s support team for more information”

On any of the PC’s that get this error i’ve tried several fixes: Installed all Windows Updates, closed all personal folders, run Outlook in safe mode, run Outlook with switches to clean views, etc.

The first one i came across, after spending too long trying to resolve it, i ended up just upgrading it to Outlook 2003…problem solved!

But this is not ideal, anybody have ideas??
