Outlook 2003 and Business Contact Manager database access problem

by pescod . Updated 17 years, 1 month ago

I use windows XP Professional on a Toshiba Tecra A6 laptop with the Office 2003 suite.I have outlines my situation below:

1.Tried twice, unsuccessfully, to load Free trial of most recent Rave CRM software. Desisted and
2.Executed uninstall of Rave CRM trial software
3.Now when I start Outlook 2003 I experience a long delay, it finally loads and updates and a pop up message appears as follows:
a. “The Business Contact Manager for Outlook database cannot be loaded. This action cannot be executed because Business Contact Manager cannot gain access to the database.
Service MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ was not found on the computer.
Do you wish to change configuration of the database?”

Action Taken: OK

Result: A Pop up: “Business Contact Manager cannot find the database that it is looking for. Check that the network and the equipment where the database resides are available and that you have the access permission to the database, and try again”

Action Taken: OK

Result: Pop up Menu: Assistance to Start, with two choices:
?Create a new Database,& Provide Database Name
?Select a Database

Action Taken: Selected ?Create a new Database?,and I input database name as: MSBusinessContactManager3

Result: Pop up: “ERROR,Database could not be created”. I get the same result no matter what database name I input.
What do you recommend: I need to create a new Databse for BCM.
