Outlook 2003 Error with Personal Folder

by gh9 . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

Hi guys,

I’ve been having quite the dilema for about a day or more. I have a workstation in our company that seems to have been corrupted. She first said that it froze(not responding), and then she shut it off. Now everytime she would try and access her email she gets a dialog box that says “A folder in outlook was not properly closed” (something of that nature). While waiting, she’ll get an error box claiming that the location of the folder is unavailable. So I try the following
1. The repair tool in Add/Remove Programs

2. Deleting mail locations in Data Files

3. I run regedit and delete the following reg folder, HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-35785*****-**********-**********-****\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging subsystem\Profile.(stars will be numbers – diifferent on each machine)

Restart outlook, enter the new profile name, close outlook, replace the pst, start outlook again.

Result-Outlook starts, however still with that box.

Can someone please lend me a hand in this? It would be a pleasure!

Thanks!
