Outlook 2003 Startup

Outlook is set to scheduled to start in the task scheduler. After it starts, the program is frozen. When the frozen program is shutdown by the 3 fingers, and then started manually, everything is OK. What causes this and is there a fix so that the 3 fingers are not needed?
