Outlook 2007 connecting to exchange 5.5 using MAPI

I can’t seem to figure out what the problem is, it resolves the name, but when it tries to setup outlook it stops and “Cannot open your default e-mail folders. the resource that you are trying to use is located on an unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange.” any work around this?
