Outlook 2007 fonts are automatically reduced to unreadable

After looking at a number of possible solutions on the internet (none of which worked) it seems to me that it happens only on new emails and replies and not incoming. Upon further looking at the problem, when I pull up the ruler it shows only going across 1/3 of the page, meaning that the font is only reduced by the page being reduced. If I copy myself on an email it looks normal. How to I re-adjust the page to normal size?
