Outlook 2007 marks mails as read when previewed.

With preview enabled,just scrolling up/down new mails marks those mails as read. How can I preview mails to prioritise them without them being marked as read.
I seem to remember 2003 previewed with a single click but only marked as read when opened with a double click.
