Outlook Express 6.0: Language Changed to French

I see this issue all over the internet, but in every case, there seems to be a required fee to get the answer! In Outlook Express 6.0, the language in spell check suddenly changed from English to French and there’s no option to change it to anything else. Yes, I have Microsoft Office 2007 and I’ve read that they have a new spelling database there that overrides what is in Outlook Express 6.0 (???) and causes this problem. Also read that Microsoft has not yet released a fix for this?
