Outlook Express – freezes on startup due to corrupt mail

Running Outlook Express 2003 I have a corrupt email at the top of my Inbox (it’s from a Chinese client and I think the Chinese characters have upset the system). So when I start Outlook Express the system is frozen and I can’t do anything. Is there any way to delete this email from outside out Outlook Express? I really need all my saved emails and addresses! Thanks.
