Outlook Express Outbox problem

In Outlook Express 6.0, when I click “Send” to send an email, I get an error, and the message stays in the Outbox seemingly not sent. HOWEVER, the person it is addressed to gets multiples of that message until I delete it from the Outbox. It never does get to the Sent folder.

Anyone have a fix for this?
