Hi everyone, the drama is back… So any help will be great, but must hurry, as I need a quick fix! (sorry to rush you guys)
Today I was asked to help a friend to set up a new laptop with email and basic software. I plugged the Ethernet cable to one of the ports on the modem. Fine. Connected thank you very much. Then installed all the software back and great everything working.
When I installed Windows Live mail everything fell apart. The three diferent pcs and the new laptop simply wont connect his email accounts using Windows live mail and Outlook Express(he used Xtra.co.nz, the Yahoo Plus from New Zealand)
First I thought it was my fault, but checked all configurations and all three had the same specs based on the first one I copied from.
Norton Firewall around…Uninstalled it and put an AVG. Still cannot login his account. here is what i get:
Server cannot be connected. Error 800CCC0F
After searching and re-aplying everything I could, none of his computers connected to the modem will let the poor man check his emails.
I tried Outlook, O. Express and windows live Mail. All the same problem.
Specific configs:
-incoming: pop3, port 995, ssl on
-outgoing: smtp, port 465, ssl on
then: applied with no ssl, ports 25 and 110 – no success.
And yes, I called the help desk on Yahoo, no help at all.
I just don’t know what else to try.
