Outlook lag at remote location

by optical confusion . Updated 23 years, 11 months ago

I have two LAN’s connected via T-1/frame relay (768). My Server farm resides on only one of the LAN’s. I will refer to this LAN as the Main and my other LAN as the remote. On the remote LAN there exist only one server and serves as a BDC/file server. The network layout is simple. I have a 2601 cisco router on each end and a Cisco PIX 515 on the inside of each end.
The issue lies at the remote LAN. The issue is that Outlook lag’s in sending and receiving emails.(I.E. when a user sends anemail at the remote LAN, the email will sit in the outbox until the user clicks any interface inside Outlook, whether it be Deleted items, contacts, Drafts, journal, etc.. Then and only then is the email sent out. The same for receiving emails. The Outlook client does not offer any errors. Clients are running either Outlook 2K or 98. We have Exchange 5.5 sp4 as our server and it is located on the Main LAN. No clients on the Main LAN have this issue.

Any ideas?? I am stumped…..
