Outlook98 calendar problem

Outlook98 is being run on a laptop and has been set to have offline folders. When the user is on the network he occassionally loses connection to his calendar folder and only re-establishes connection when he logs off and logs on again.

Has anyone experienced this problem I would appreciate some assistance
