PalmOS Garnet VM available for Nokia Maemo

I stumbled across this out of the blue tonight and thought it may be of interest to any other PalmOS carrying geeks out there. Access has released a version of there Garnet VM for Maemo N770, N800 and N810. This is likely the compatibility system they’ve talked about to support legacy palmOS programs on the new Linux kernel based OS they’re developing to follow Garnet.

It’s a version 1 Beta but installed clean and functions well so far.

They seem only to ask that anyone who gives it a go report back with bugs including what Palm apps will and won’t run currently.

Now I’m off to see how much of my PalmOS apps and info I can squeeze into it through the included HotSync and installer. I’m hoping this will hold my years of calendar and contacts data until the GPE suite matures enough to truly replace it.
