passing data from sub reports to main report in crystal report

I am doing a recordcount of 2 sets, status=”finished” and status=”Incomplete” in a subreport. I want to pass these values to the main report. I am using Crystal report. I have used shared variable in sub report. then I have used the same shared value in the main report for getting the count. but the problem is i am not getting the actual count. How to display the value in the main report ?

I am using Crystal Reports X.

Any idea ?
