PC Phone

I want to use my pc as a normal phone.I have a wired phone line,external DLink phone modem.I want to be able to dial and receive phone calls using software on the pc.I should be able to communicate to the phone line through the soundcard,that way when I am busy using the pc wont have to run to the phone.Is there a way to do this?
